Diablo II

-Available on PC

Released in 2000, Blizzard’s Diablo II is considered to be one of the best RPGs (Role Playing Game) in existence with its expansion, Lord of Destruction, being equally as popular. The game revolves around Sanctum, a land which is in dire need of heroes to save it from falling into the clutches of Diablo, Lord of Terror, one of three Prime Evils of Hell.

Diablo II features 4 different acts, which can be thought of a little bit like chapters or levels. The end of each act features a difficult boss fight in which players must use all their skills to bring down their enemy. Act II in particular features, Duriel, who is considered to be one of, if not the, most difficult fight of the game. Throughout the game, players complete quests and advance through the story mode. There are lesser bosses and epic monsters to fight along the way, each dropping rare items to help with making your character stronger.

Diablo II features 5 different classes to choose from, with each class having their own unique abilities and stats. Players are able to choose from: the Sorceress, Barbarian, Necromancer, Paladin and Amazon. Each class requires a unique combination of statistics and items in order to make them the most effective against enemies. The statistics features in the game are: Strength, Intellect, Dexterity and Vitality.

The Sorceress

The Sorceress is a magic based class who takes advantage of fire, lightning and ice in order to attack her foes. She is strongly spell based, utilising mana in order to attack her foes. As a Sorceress, players want to be focusing on building stats like Intellect which will help players to do more damage with their spells.

The Barbarian

The Barbarian is a melee based class who specialises in heavy weapons and doing a lot of damage. He can be considered somewhat similar to a tank, in other games. When playing a Barbarian, players want to focus on raising the characters Strength and Vitality to ensure that the character has enough strength to wield his items and enough health in order to withstand attacks from multiple enemies.

The Necromancer

The Necromancer is a unique class which specialises in raising minions to fight for him. Players are able to resurrect a number of different skeletons and golems in order to fight enemies as well as provide a distraction so that the Necromancer can hit his enemies with his incredibly powerful attack spells. One of the Necromancer's stronger attacks is Bone Spear, so it is recommended to have enough Intellect in order to use the spell.

The Paladin

The Paladin is possibly the most over-powered class in the game. The Paladin is a melee class who utilises spells. He can use his holy abilities in order to heal him when fighting enemies.  His abilities increase his prowess with the shield and sword. He is particularly effective against undead enemies as many of his spells are extremely effective against them. He has the ability to use blessing auras which buff him, and any ally around him. Given that the Paladin can be reliant on the use of spells for survival it is recommended that player's raise their Intellect in order to accomodate for spell use; it is still crucial to make sure that your Paladin has enough Strength in order to wield the appropriate weapons and shields you need.

The Amazon

The Amazon is a ranged attack class who specialises in the bow and spear. In order to be most effective with this class it is crucial that players raise statistics such as Dexterity and Vitality, whilst still raising a little bit of Strength in order to wield the necessary weapons. The Amazon is one of the more harder classes considering she is mainly a ranged class, which means she is most effective when away from her enemies; this is why that little bit of health is always desirable in case of emergencies.
