Battlefield vs Call of Duty

We have all heard the cries from diehard Call of Duty fans, swearing that Modern Warfare 2 is the best FPS game that was ever created, as well as the screams from Battlefield fans who swear that it is the better series. For those that are stuck in between, it really does raise the question over which game is better. However, it is impossible to give a definitive answer over which is the better FPS. Though here at Game-Girl, we’re all for Team Battlefield.

Both series cater to different play styles so it completely depends on the type of gamer you are as to which series you would like better. If you’re stuck between the decision on which series to try, have a read of the features of each series in order to help you better understand whether you’re Team Battlefield, or Team Call of Duty.

Team Battlefield

The Battlefield series is more for the serious FPS gamer. If you’re all about running around blazin’ down the enemy, then you should probably stick to Call of Duty. In Battlefield tactics are required in order to complete your objectives and win the match. There is more emphasis on teamwork than there is in other FPS games so you’re required to actually work with your teammates in order to complete objectives.

If you’re the type of gamer who loves roaming around in tanks, APVs and helicopters then we also suggest you try the Battlefield series. In games such as Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3, players are able to roam around in said vehicles in order to destroy buildings, kill enemies and generally reap mayhem and destruction upon the map.

All in all, if you’re looking for a more realistic warfare experience, chances are you’ll love the Battlefield series over the Call of Duty series.

Team Call of Duty

Unlike its counterpart, Call of Duty tends to be a little less serious when it comes to the gameplay. Rather than working in a team, players are generally able to roam around and just shoot the enemy. So if that’s all you’re looking for in a FPS game, Call of Duty is definitely for you.

Call of Duty also excels in its campaigns. The Battlefield series campaigns have excellent campaigns, it’s just the Call of Duty campaigns tend to be a bit more engaging and in depth. The only issue with the Call of Duty campaigns is that they are a little short, generally lasting only about 6-7 hours. In terms of the storyline, they are excellent – leaving players aching for more every time. So if you’re not really into the multiplayer game play, we suggest you have a look at the Call of Duty series.

So if you’re looking for something a bit more fun and less serious, have a go with the Call of Duty series.

All in all, whether you’re a Battlefield or a Call of Duty fan which series you like better is completely dependent on the type of gamer you are, if you’re more serious, chances are you’ll like Battlefield; and if you’re less serious, chances are you’ll like Call of Duty. The answer to which is better, is completely subjective; but it’s obviously Battlefield.
